A Midsummer Night's Dream

the play that bottom and company and company performed made me laugh. They were too afraid to take risks that decided to tell the audience who was performing who, even though it was obvious.
The fact that Bottom was turned into an Ass was the climax of my laughter. Maybe I am stretching the following thought a little too far, but the fact that Titania fell in love with an ass can represent today's world. I have heard so many times that girls tend to fall in love with 'jerks'(asses), with men that do not treat them how they should, and I have even heard the ridiculous comment of "it is an inevtiable force" that women do not go for the 'nice' guys.

Thesus says:
Lovers and madmen have such seething brains,
such shaping fantasies, that apprehend.
...
The lunatic, the lover, and the poet
Are of imagination all compact.
One sees more devils than vast hell ca hold:
That is the madman. The lover, all as frantic,
Sees Helen's beauty in a brow of Egypt.
The poet's eye, in a fine frenzy rolling,
...
the form of things unknown, th poet's pen
Turns them to shapes, and gives to airy nothing
A local habitation and a name. (V.i.7-17)

This is such a magical passage about lovers all around. Who has not experienced, or seen someone go through that "love" stage, you see them irrational. Usually the people involved in the relationship are not able to be objective, and sometimes cannot even see that perhaps they did not choose the right partner by the arguments that they are having. That comparison has really stuck to me:
a lover, a lunatic, and a poet are all the same. They are all crazy. The lover goes crazy when he/she cannot get the love that he/she wants. A lover ALSO goes crazy when he is where he/she wants. There is no doubt that a poet is crazy with or without his/her muse.

Is it worth falling in love? Isn't that the question we all have in such a modern society where it is prefered to avoid the pain of the 'falling out of love' (long) stage.
